Educational Excursion to Solan (Mushroom City of India)

Four exchange students — Arleny, Brandon, Empress, and Kay’Leah — from Sallie B. Howard School , North Carolina, USA went on an educational excursion to Solan today, beginning their journey at the Muscular Dystrophy Hospital (IAM:D). They were given a guided tour of the place and got to know that Muscular Dystrophy (MD) is a genetic disorder characterized by progressive muscle weakness and degeneration. Their interaction with patients gave them profound insights into resilience and hope in the face of adversity.

The visit then led them to the majestic Jatoli Temple, renowned as the tallest Shiva temple in North India and a masterpiece of Indo-Aryan architecture. Its soaring shikhara (spire) and intricate stone carvings immersed the students in the richness of India’s spiritual and cultural heritage.

At midday, the students enjoyed Domino's pizza treat for lunch, adding warmth and delight to the day’s schedule. They later explored the Mohan Heritage Park, nestled along the tranquil banks of the Ashwani rivulet, where history and nature coexist harmoniously.

The day concluded on a cheerful note, rounding off a journey that beautifully blended learning, culture, and joy.
