Department of Metallurgical Engineering BIT Sindri in association with IIM students' chapter BIT Sindri is going to organise a monthly seminar "alchemy" on the topic "Material in Defence". The alchemy is scheduled on 10th of January 2021.

Department of Metallurgical Engineering BIT Sindri in association with IIM students' chapter BIT Sindri organized a webinar of Professor Rajesh Prasad of IIT Delhi. The topic for the webinar was" The art of Escher and science of crystallography". The event saw huge participation from various colleges of India. Attendees were from various IITs, NITs and various other state government colleges. Professor Rajesh Prasad first gives a introduction about the life of Escher. Students were enlightened by the different art of Escher.Later Professor Rajesh Prasad correlates the art of Escher with crystallography and periodicity.It was certainly a new topic for the students and the students were seen to be enthusiastic about this topic.
The event concluded with a panel discussion followed by vote of thanks.

On 23rd September 2020, Department of Metallurgical Engineering BIT Sindri in association with IIM student's chapter BIT Sindri organized a webinar on Google meet platform.The key speaker of the event was Dr Krishanu Bishwas of IIT Kanpur.
The domain of the discussion was "phase transformation in alloys".The webinar was very helpful in clearing the doubts of students and helps them in understanding the phase transformation more intuitively.The webinar was ended with students demanding more such lectures of Dr Krishanu Bishwas.

Department of Metallurgical Engineering BIT SINDRI and IIM Students' chapter BIT Sindri is organising Dr Rajendra Prasad Memorial Metal Quiz on the 22nd of September. It's an inter-school quiz competition in which more than 5000 students from various schools of Dhanbad district are going to participate. It will consist of various rounds and sections which will analyse not only their academic abilities but also their general knowledge across wide variety of formats. The quiz aims to promote metallurgical engineering among the budding minds.

The Department of Metallurgical Engineering, BIT SINDRI & IIM Students ' Chapter, BIT SINDRI is going to organise a district level inter-school quiz competition by the name of "Dr. Rajendra Prasad Memorial Metal Quiz" in the memory of Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first HOD of Department of Metallurgical Engineering, to commemorate his memories and external blessings. This quiz competition will be held in Dr. Rajendra Prasad Memorial Hall, BIT SINDRI on 22nd of September.
In this competition, more than 5000 students from over 16 schools of Dhanbad district will be participating in different technical rounds, testing each-other's mettle.
