How has Manas International School’s academic philosophy evolved in recent years, particularly in balancing board results with skill-based and experiential learning? Rakesh Kumar: Our academic philosophy at Manas International School has evolved from a marks-first approach to a mastery-and-meaning approach without compromising board performance. While board results remain important, we now see them as a natural outcome of strong conceptual learning, structured practice, and student agency rather than the sole goal of schooling. Academic excellence continues to be non-negotiable, but we have consciously shifted from content-heavy lessons to experiential, skill-based, and practical learning models rooted in our Dhanbad community context. Skill-based and experiential components are embedded within mainstream academics through structured projects—like local environmental initiatives and cultural collaborations—application tasks, and collaborative learning instead of being treated as add-ons. Assessments are now blended, combining tests with presentations, reflections, and product-based outcomes so that learning becomes visible beyond marks. Simultaneously, the teacher’s role has been redefined from content delivery to learning design, enabling classrooms where students explore, apply, question, and create while maintaining academic rigour. पनभरों ने मांगों के समर्थन में ईसीएल मुगमा क्षेत्रीय कार्यालय मुख्य गेट पर जोरदार प्रदर्शन किया,

निरसा : ईसीएल मुगमा क्षेत्रीय कार्यालय परिषर में 37 दिनों से चला आ रहा पनभरों का धरना बुधवार उग्र रूप ले लिया । धरनार्थियों ने कार्यालय के मुख्य गेट जाम कर यूनाइटेड कोल वर्कर्स यूनियन के बैनर तले अपनी मांगों के समर्थन में जोरदार प्रदर्शन किया और प्रबन्धन के खिलाफ जम कर नारेबाजी की ।
घंटो बाद क्षेत्रीय कार्यालय मुगमा के कार्मिक प्रबंधक दिपिका कुमारी, सीनियर प्रबंधक आशुतोष अवस्थी, कुमार अमित पदाधिकारियों ने धरनास्थल पर पहुंचकर आंदोलनकारियों को एक सप्ताह के अंदर महाप्रबंधक से वार्ता कराने का आश्वासन दिया। साथ ही एक बार पुन: डिमांड को लिखित देने की बात कही। तब जाकर आंदोलनकारियों ने गेट जाम समाप्त किया लेकिन अनिश्चितकालीन धरना जारी रखा । आंदोलनकारियों का कहना है कि जब तक उनकी मांगों को पूरा नहीं किया जाता तब तक आंदोलन जारी रहेगा।
ज्ञातब्य है कि बीते 37 दिनों से युनाइटेड कोल वकर्स यूनियन के बैनर तले बकाया भुगतान, ग्रेच्यूटी, पेंशन सहित अन्य मांगों को लेकर मुगमा क्षेत्रीय कार्यालय के मुख्य द्वार के समीप अनिश्चितकालीन धरना पर बैठे हुए है।
धरना का नेतृत्व कर रहे सांसद प्रतिनिधि गोपाल राय ने बताया कि पनभरा मजदूर बीते 37 दिनों से मांगों को लेकर धरना पर बैठे हुए हैं। इसके बावजूद प्रबंधन द्वारा कोई सकारात्मक पहल नहीं की जा रही है। उन्होंने बताया कि बीते 19 जनवरी से धरना पर बैठे हुए हैं। वर्ष 1980 से इसीएल मुगमा क्षेत्र में पड़ने वाले सभी कोलियरी आवासों में भार से पानी देने का काम करते आ रहे हैं। लेकिन प्रबंधन इन मजदूरों के साथ भेदभाव करती आ रही है। वर्तमान में मात्र 50 पनभरा मजदूर बचे हुए हैं। पानी भरने के एवज में पनभरा मजदूरों को दो रुपया 80 पैसे प्रतिभार दिया जाता है। लेकिन 20 माह बीत जाने के बाद भी अब तक पैसे का भुगतान नहीं किया गया है। ये लोग लगभग 40-50 वर्ष से आवासों में पानी देने का काम करते आ रहे हैं।
धरना में उमेश यादव, अजुर्न यादव, श्रीनाथ यादव, भोला यादव, बैकुंठ यादव, धनु रवानी, हरिनाथ यादव, मटर महतो, उमाकांत यादव, सुबल रवानी, भोनु रवानी, बिट्टु गोप, झारु गोराई, दुवास गोप, धनजी ठाकुर सहित अन्य शामिल हैं।
