DAV National Sports – 2026 (Cluster Level Tournament)

DAV Centenary Public School, Baniahir (Lodna), Dhanbad had the honour of hosting the DAV National Sports–2026 (Cluster Level Tournament) on 24th and 25th July, 2026. The two-day sporting extravaganza witnessed enthusiastic participation from various DAV schools of Cluster VIII, bringing together talented young athletes in a spirit of healthy competition, discipline, and sportsmanship.

The tournament featured competitions in Volleyball, Table Tennis, and Archery for Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 Boys and Girls categories. The event provided an excellent platform for students to showcase their sporting skills, determination, and team spirit.

The tournament was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest, the General Manager, Lodna Area, BCCL, who appreciated the efforts of DAV institutions in promoting sports alongside academic excellence. In his address, he encouraged the participants to uphold the values of dedication, perseverance, and fair play.

The programme was further graced by the presence of Mrs. Mahua Singh, Principal, DAV Model School, CFRI and Head, Cluster VIII, as the Special Guest. She motivated the young sportspersons to pursue excellence with confidence and integrity.

The occasion was also honoured by the presence of Mr. Sharad Srivastava, Principal, DAV Public School, Barora, as the distinguished Guest, who congratulated the participants and applauded the meticulous arrangements made by the host school.

Throughout the tournament, players displayed remarkable enthusiasm, discipline, and competitive spirit. The matches were conducted smoothly under the supervision of experienced officials and dedicated volunteers. Spectators enthusiastically cheered the participants, creating a vibrant and encouraging atmosphere.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Abhilasha Kumari, Principal, DAV Centenary Public School, Baniahir (Lodna), Dhanbad. She expressed her sincere gratitude to the Chief Guest, Special Guest, distinguished guests, participating schools, officials, coaches, volunteers, teachers, students, and the organizing committee for their invaluable support and contribution towards the grand success of the event.

Sports in summer camp

DAV CENTENARY PUBLIC SCHOOL, BANIAHIR (LODNA), DHANBAD successfully commenced its Summer Camp with great enthusiasm and excitement. The first day of the camp was filled with fun, creativity, learning, and active participation from students.

The camp began with a warm welcome to all participants by the school teachers. Students from different classes gathered with high energy and excitement to participate in various activities specially designed for their holistic development.

Several engaging activities were conducted on the first day, including Art & Craft, Sports, Dance, and STEM activities.

In the Art & Craft session, students showcased their creativity by making beautiful drawings, paper crafts, greeting cards, and decorative items. This activity helped them improve their imagination and fine motor skills.

The Sports session encouraged students to participate in various indoor and outdoor games. Through sports activities, students learned the importance of teamwork, discipline, physical fitness, and sportsmanship.

During the Dance session, students enthusiastically learned new dance moves and performed on energetic music. The session helped them build confidence, coordination, and stage presence.

The STEM activity was one of the most exciting parts of the day. Students participated in simple science experiments, model-making, and problem-solving tasks. They explored new concepts related to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics in a fun and practical manner.

The first day of Summer Camp was a wonderful blend of learning and enjoyment. Students not only learned new skills but also explored their talents, interacted with friends, and created memorable experiences.

The day concluded with happy faces and excitement among students for the upcoming camp activities.

The 2nd day of Mother’s Day Celebration was organized with great enthusiasm and joy at DAV Centenary Public School, Baniahir. The program was inaugurated by the Senior Teacher cm Academic Co-ordinator, Mr. Subhankar Sarkar.

The celebration witnessed active participation from several mothers of students from the Junior Wing. The event was specially designed to strengthen the bond between mothers and their children through fun-filled activities and engaging games.

Various exciting games and competitions were organized for both mothers and students. The participants enjoyed the activities wholeheartedly, creating a cheerful and memorable atmosphere in the school campus.

The program successfully highlighted the importance of mothers in the lives of children and provided an opportunity for families to spend quality time together. The event concluded on a happy note with appreciation for all participating mothers and students.

Mother’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy at DAV CENTENARY PUBLIC SCHOOL, BANIAHIR. The event was organized to honor and appreciate the unconditional love, care, and sacrifices of mothers.
The program was inaugurated by the Honorable Principal, Dr. Abhilasha Kumari, who addressed the gathering with inspiring words about the importance of mothers in shaping the future of children and society. She also appreciated the efforts made by the school in organizing such a meaningful event.
The entire program was beautifully designed and coordinated by our Pre-Primary Coordinator, Mrs. Pinky Banerjee. Her planning and dedication made the celebration memorable and enjoyable for all participants.
The mothers of students from Pre-Nursery to Class II actively participated in the celebration. Several fun-filled games and activities were organized especially for mothers, which created a cheerful and lively atmosphere. The participants enjoyed the games wholeheartedly, making the event full of excitement and happiness.
The program concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by the Senior Teacher and Academic In-Charge, Mr. S. Sarkar. He expressed gratitude to the Principal, teachers, mothers, and all staff members for their valuable contribution in making the event successful.
The Mother’s Day celebration at DAV Baniahir was truly a grand success and left beautiful memories in the hearts of all present.

IIT (ISM) DHANBAD - A SCIENTIFIC EXPLORATION TOUR

Objective of the Visit
The educational trip was organized to provide students with practical exposure to advanced scientific and engineering facilities, enhance their understanding of applied sciences, and inspire them towards research and innovation.

Places and Facilities Visited
- Artificial Longwall Mines
Students observed the working model of longwall mining, gaining insights into mechanized coal extraction methods.
- Artificial Board and Pillar Mines
The visit to the board and pillar mining setup helped students understand traditional underground mining techniques and their safety aspects.
- Geological Museum
The museum showcased a wide variety of rocks, minerals, and fossils. Students learned about the geological diversity of India and the importance of earth sciences.
- Robotics Workshop
Students witnessed demonstrations of robotic systems and their applications in mining and engineering. This session sparked curiosity about automation and artificial intelligence.
- Chemical Engineering Laboratories
The labs provided exposure to chemical processes, equipment, and safety protocols, highlighting the role of chemical engineering in industrial applications.
- Physics Laboratory
Students explored experimental setups that deepened their understanding of fundamental physics concepts.
- Geophysics Laboratory
