A bronze statue of Mahatma Gandhi was stolen from outside the Australian Indian Community Centre in Rowville, Melbourne, in a shocking incident that has deeply hurt the Indian community. The 426-kg statue, gifted by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), New Delhi, held strong cultural and historical significance. According to reports, the theft occurred around 12:50 pm on Monday when three unidentified men allegedly used an angle grinder to cut the statue from its base before fleeing. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
