TODAY JAGJIT SINGH'S 72TH BIRTHDAY.

Jagjit Singh, popularly known as "Ghazal King", is the subject of Friday's Google doodle in India.

Jagjit Singh was born Jagmohan Singh in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, India on 8 February 1941. His musical talent was spotted at an early age and his father encouraged him to learn music from prominent talents of the time. In 1965, at age 24, he decided to head to Bombay to try and make a career in music.

"World's largest prime number discovered with 17 million digits"
London, February 7 (ANI): Mathematician Curtis Cooper has broken his own record by discovering the largest prime number ever.

The new number beats the previous record by over four million digits.

The number - 2 to the power of 57,885,161 minus 1 - is 17,425,170 numerals long and if you spent 12 hours a day writing it out at the rate of one digit a second it would take 403 days to complete, the Daily Mail reported.

A prime number is only divisible by itself and 1, with the first ones being 2, 3, 5, 7 and 11.

COMPETITION: "Google invites you to make India Maps better"
NEW DELHI: Google India has announced Mapathon 2013, the country's first mapping competition. It is a crowdsourcing initiative aimed to improve Google Maps in India. Registrations for the competition, which commences on February 12 and concludes on March 25, 2013, have begun.
