Greetings from the Book Club!

On January 18, 1936, in London, the life and journey of the youngest contemporary Nobel Prize winner had come to an end. Rudyard Kipling was no more.

Born in Mumbai, on December 30, 1865, Kipling was a short-story writer, poet, and novelist. Today, he is especially remembered for his tales and poems of British soldiers in India, and his tales for children such as the Jungle Book and Kim. He was the first English writer to receive the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1907.

On his death anniversary today, we pay our humble regards to his great soul

Greetings from the Book Club!

On January 14, 1898, in the Guildford, Surrey, the world witnessed one of the most tragic deaths of the Victorian Times. Exactly 124 years ago, it was the demise of Lewis Carroll.

Born as Charles Lutwidge Dodgson on January 27, 1832, in Daresbury, Cheshire, England, Carroll was a logician, a mathematician, a photographer, and novelist. He is especially remembered for Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (1865) and its sequel, Through the Looking-Glass (1871).

Today, we pay our humble regards to this great soul.
