Success comes from recruiting the right private tutor
The key to our service is getting a good match between our private part-time tutors and full time tutors and families ,and the way we do this is to recruit properly.
• First we meet with the family and student(s). We discuss your requirements, your preferences and expectations.
• Based on this meeting we draw up a detailed job specification, which forms the basis of our recruitment.
• We place adverts in the specialist educational press. This results in a flow of CVs and resumes.
• We select suitably qualified teachers and request – and check – three references on each one.
• We shortlist about half-a-dozen applicants who are interviewed in person.
• The two best candidates are then put forward to the client for a final selection. It is this careful, painstaking process that results in such high-caliber candidates and the best match of tutor and family. FULL-TIME PRIVATE TUTORS
Full-time private tutors instead of school
Typically, we find teachers for full-time tutoring positions or for major support and learning outside school hours but where the tutor still lives with the family. There are many benefits to home schooling, for the student and their family, and just as many reasons why a family choose full-time private tuition. We’ve placed full-time tutors with:
• students who were being bullied or felt uncomfortable at school
• students with special educational needs, such as dyslexia or AD/HD
Part-time home tutoring or after school support
Some students need a private tutor to supplement their studies, with after-school tuition, or a few days of home schooling instead of school each week. If the number of hours is significant – say, the benefits of home school tuition
Teaching children at home can be rewarding, flexible, and provide them with the education that sets them up for life. Whatever your reason for wanting to home school your children, the benefits can be seen in your child’s confidence, academic ability and flexibility around your family’s lifestyle. Whether your tutor is there to provide full-time tuition instead of school, or to supplement school lessons, our private tutors have made a real difference to countless families around the world. Why home-schooling is good for children
While some children may feel anxious about home-schooling if they are used to a school-based education, many quickly feel the benefits of home tuition in:
• Freedom to learn and express themselves in a supportive environment
• Flexibility around leisure activities or other commitments, such as sports, acting or training
• More time to spend with friends and family, and doing the things they enjoy
• Educational trips and the chance to learn about the world
Why a full-time home tutor is good for you
• You have control over your child’s learning environment and what they’re being taught
• See the progress your child is making and get constant feedback from the tutor
• Your family has the freedom to travel without disrupting school
• Tutoring more than two children at home can be cheaper than boarding school
• Your tutor can arrange extra-curricular activities and outings to support your child’s education
12 to 15 hours a week
• We can usually help families who wanted to spend considerable time travelling
• students who have other commitments, such as acting or sports
• families who want a different educational style or curriculum than that found at school
Private tutor salary guidelines
The pricing of a job is based on the detailed Specification that we draw up after meeting with our clients. It is based purely on what we know we need to be able to offer to attract excellent educators from their current commitments. The figures are negotiable to some degree, but we do not believe in under pricing the services of highly-qualified teaching professionals. Having assessed what we need to pay to attract the right calibre of applicant to a particular post, we then calculate the fee to the client. Unlike most recruiters we do not charge our fee in advance and then leave everything to the client and tutor. Our fees are spread over the whole contract term and we remain available to help both the client and tutor throughout the full period.
