The National Workshop on Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) with GRADE Approach was organized by the Multi-Disciplinary Research Unit (MRU), AIIMS Deoghar, in collaboration with the Technical Resource Centre, Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW). The workshop provided an excellent platform to strengthen competencies in evidence-based medicine, systematic reviews, and robust research methodology, and witnessed active participation from faculty, scientists, residents, scholars, and postgraduate students representing diverse institutes across the country.

On the momentous occasion of the 7th Foundation Day and Research Award Ceremony of AIIMS Deoghar (25.5.2025), we proudly inaugurated the Multidisciplinary Research Unit (MRU) — a landmark step towards strengthening the research infrastructure of our institute.
The red ribbon was ceremoniously cut by Dr. Rajeev Bahl, Director General, ICMR, in the esteemed presence of Dr. N.K. Arora, President, AIIMS Deoghar, Dr. Saurabh Varshney, Executive Director & CEO, Dr. Pratima Gupta, Dean Research, and Dr. Mona Lisa, Nodal Officer, MRU.
Dr. Rajeev Bahl expressed his happiness and appreciation upon learning that the MRU is already spearheading 13 research projects within a short period since its inception in 2023 — a testament to the commitment and potential of the research ecosystem at AIIMS Deoghar.
The event was a grand success, thanks to the relentless efforts of the entire MRU team, led efficiently by Dr. Mona Lisa, who ensured that every detail was taken care of with grace and precision.
The MRU continues to strive towards fostering a vibrant research culture within AIIMS Deoghar — inspiring young minds, enabling innovation, and pushing the boundaries of medical science.

Yesterday MRU has visited st merry school deoghar to aware students about mental health, addiction control and other well being related things. students showed great interest and participated while we witnessed active cooperation from the teachers of the school also. Team was lead by Dr. Bijit Biswas, Assistant professor,CFM,aiims deoghar and scientists and staffs of mru.

In an effort to assess the hearing status of the geriatric population in the Santhal Pargana region, the Multidisciplinary Research Unit (MRU), in collaboration with the Department of ENT and under the guidance of Dr. K. S. B. S. Sasanka, organized a free health camp at the Ayushman Arogya Mandir, Hussainabad, Block Devipur, Deoghar District.
To extend a wider range of healthcare services to the local community, Dr. Tajinder Pal from the Department of Ophthalmology, AIIMS Deoghar, also joined the initiative. In addition to hearing evaluations, participants underwent vision screening, ensuring a more holistic approach to geriatric care.
Essential medicines, including Vitamin B complex capsules, as well as commonly used ear and eye drops, were distributed to all beneficiaries.
Aligned with the mission of AIIMS Deoghar, the MRU remains committed to enhancing access to quality healthcare for the catchment population in and around the region.
