“There is no thing as a single - issue struggle because we do not live single - issue lives” - Audre Lorde
Warm greetings everyone!
While referring to gender and the stereotypical constructs that surround it , two arenas encompassing women’s representation, where we as a society have miserably failed is - the treatment of women in minority groups and a severe lack of adequate and even education to women . With a contemporary and fresh narrative , intersectionality as a concept seems to be embraced . However there are significant debates with regards to limited access to pedagogy and uncanny prejudice which surrounds women owing to double discrimination which need to be addressed.
In order to put light on this long forged debate and have a certain enlightenment on the same , the Department of Political science, Kamla Nehru college brings forth a series of international lectures on gender and politics. The forthcoming session will be presented by Dr Aliya Khalid , lecturer in Comparative and International education, Department of education, University of Oxford on the issue- Women's Agency under constrained conditions: Minority groups and Education.

Warm Greetings!!
Women have always had to be about making limited resources work to sustain themselves and their families. They understand what it means to make the hard decisions and to just get on with it. However, the question of their role in public life still stands at a debatable stage with patriarchy overshadowing it.
In order to highlight this debate and light a spark of our dormant inquisitive instincts, the Department of Political science, Kamla Nehru college brings forth a series of international lectures on gender and politics. The inaugural session of the series will be presented by Dr. Sylvia Garcia, an associate professor at school of social sciences and government at department of political science and international relations, Technologico De Monterrey on the issue- The role of women in public life: citizenship and cultural violence.
