Threads of home, woven into every piece.
We present to you, The St. Stephen’s North-East Society Summer Merch 2026 which draws inspiration from the quiet strength of the hills, the stories carried by the winds, and the animals that hold a sacred place in our cultures. Every design reflects the beauty of our traditional shawls not just as fabric, but as identity, memory, and belonging.
This isn’t just merch. It’s a piece of where we come from, reimagined for where we are. 🌿

The St. Stephen’s North-East Society presents the annual talk on the topic “REPRESENTING THE MARGINS: IDENTITY AND SELF-REPRESENTATION IN VISUAL STORYTELLING FROM NORTH-EAST INDIA” for the society’s annual fest UNICOLOUR ‘26! 🔖
For decades, North-East India has been represented through reductive and external perspectives that have obscured its complex identities and lived realities. This talk seeks to engage with the ongoing shift led by artists and visual storytellers from the region, who are reclaiming narrative agency and articulating identity, memory, and experience on their own terms with Dr. Terangpi. In foregrounding self-representation, the discussion situates North-East India not as a peripheral “other,” but as a vital and assertive presence within contemporary visual and cultural discourse.
