Having started as a chess prodigy whose parents introduced him and his sister to the game to reduce television time, Praggnanandhaa’s journey has been truly remarkable.

The credit for his success rests largely on his mother Nagalakshmi. She ensures he attends his classes, creates an optimal environment for practice at home, and accompanies him to international tournaments.

“I must credit my wife, who accompanies them to tournaments and is very supportive. She takes great care (of the two),” said Rameshbabu, Praggnanandhaa’s proud father.
