You all are invited to the virtual Book launch of Dalit Intellectuals: Ideas, Struggles and the Vision edited by Yagati Chinna Rao and Raj Sekhar Basu. The volume is an exploration of a range of Dalit intellectual traditions that emerged from a special panel on Dalit History and Politics. Beginning with Ambedkar's re-envisioning of modern India to the Adi-Dravida movement in colonial Tamil Nadu, the emergence of Kanshi Ram as a public intellectual, as well as the late emergence of Dalit intellectual traditions in Bengal, among other narratives, this volume brings to the fore a new intellectual journey and revolutionizes social categories that had hitherto remained in the margins of scholarship.
