Beverly Cleary published her first children's book in 1950, setting the benchmark for realistic fiction for children. By the time she had published 40 books, she had become a beloved author among children. Beverly Cleary died on March 25, 2021, at the age of 104 years.

"Her characters offer a glimpse of childhood that many of us have grown up experiencing, and her unembellished, effortless writing leaves even the adult reader with a warm, fuzzy feeling, like the one you get when you smell a familiar scent from your childhood" writes Ritika Subhash (I Have a Tale) , author of Let's Talk About My Feelings and Ramya's Bat.
