Commerce Academic Affairs Committee of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College organized an academic talk on the topic 'Reporting Of Sustainability Development In Financial Statements' and the speaker was Prof.(Dr.) Anil Kumar Goyal of RDAIS.The talk was attended by 150+ students and the students got to learn and know a lot about Sustainability Development and CSR. The talk was concluded by a question and answer session which made the students and teachers much more aware of Sustainability Development in the corporate sector.

Prof. (Dr.) Anil Kumar Goyal has more than fourteen years of academic experience and has received the Best Teacher Award (2017-18) with over 50 research papers published in reputed journals. Currently he is working as a Professor in Rukmini Devi Institute of Advanced Studies.

This one is not to be missed because Dr. Goyal is coming with his best experience and tools to make it a great learning experience for the students.

Commerce Academic Affairs Committee of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College has organised a number of academic talks on diverse topics of Finance, Marketing, Tax Planning and Research Methodology by eminent speakers from India & abroad. These talks and workshops were aimed at knowledge and skill enhancement of students as well as faculty members.

The committee has organised the following talks:-
1) An academic talk on "Auditing" by CA Sanjeev Kumar Singhal having an experience of over 20 years in FCA and has over 12 books published by leading publishers. It was organised on 4th April, 2018.

2) A seminar on "Social Media Marketing" by Professor Kavita Sharma, Head of Department of Commerce, University of Delhi on 9th April, 2018. Prof. Kavita is an eminent personality in the field of marketing, specifically consumer behaviour, advertising and consumer relationship management.

3) An academic talk on "Research Methodology" by Dr. Satyanarayan Pariytham, Professor, Management and Marketing, University of Massachusetts, USA on 16th August 2018 for both students and faculty members. Dr. Satyanarayan Pariytham is a renowned personality in the field of Research Methods.

4) A workshop on "Case Study Writing" by Dr. Nimit Gupta, Associate Professor, FIIB, New Delhi. He shed light on how to write effective case studies and provided solutions to the strategic problems faced by modern day organisations.

5) A workshop on "Tax Planning for teachers” by Mr. Rajkumar Aggarwal, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College on 15th February, 2019. Mr. Rajkumar is an accomplished Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary. His valuable insights into intricacies of tax saving avenues provided a hands on experience on taxation matters.

All these events put together by Commerce Academic Affairs Committee witnessed enthusiastic participation from the audience and the faculty members. It provided an enriching experience for all the attendees.

The committee is now again coming up with its another most awaited academic talk on "Reporting of Sustainability Development in Financial Statements" by Prof. (Dr.) Anil Kumar Goyal, Rukmani Devi Institute of Advanced studies on 26th March, 2019. Prof.
(Dr.) Anil Kumar Goyal has more than 14 years of experience and has received the Best Teacher Award(2017-18) with over 50 research papers in reputed journals.
