Hands-On Science in Action: CSIR- National Chemical Laboratory and Join Hands to Shape Young Minds !

CSIR- National Chemical Laboratory in collaboration with ICGEB New DelhiICGEBNewDelhi, successfully organized a 2 day hands-on workshop for approximately 400 school students on 12–13 February 2026 at the Pune campus. The workshop aimed to introduce students to the innovative, low-cost Foldscope technology and provide practical exposure to microscopy-based learning.
Fellows Dr. Wajahat and Dr. Priya served as resource persons for the two-day programme, guiding students through interactive demonstrations and hands-on sessions. The workshop was coordinated by Dr. , Chief Scientist & Head – Outreach, CSIR- National Chemical Laboratory , whose leadership ensured smooth ex*****on of the event.
The initiative reflects the shared commitment of ICGEB New Delhi & CSIR- National Chemical Laboratory to strengthening scientific outreach and nurturing curiosity among young learners in the country.

Tiny Microscopes, Big Dreams: Science Reaches Remote Kishtwar !
Under the ICGEB New Delhi– The Assam Rifles - Sentinels of the North East (Kishtwar Battalion) collaborative initiative, distribution camps and hands-on workshops were successfully conducted across remote and far-flung areas of district of Jammu & Kashmir.
Following schools & colleges were covered: • Kishtwar Town – Kishtwar Senior Secondary School & Kishtwar College • Shergwadi belt – Govt Schools at Shergwadi, Bhalna & Jugna • Sarthal–Gehan – Govt Schools at Gehan & Sarthal • Keshvan region – Govt Schools at Keshvan, Naidgam & Keshna
: Around 900 students & 120 teachers were trained in the use and utility of . For many of these villages, this was the first-ever exposure to such scientific tools. Through this collaborative effort, and aim to take science beyond classrooms, ignite curiosity, and inspire young minds in remote regions to aspire for higher studies in sciences.
