UChicago PME recently opened a new 20,000 square foot research space at Hyde Park Labs. The Institute for Materials and Sustainability’s space is designed to expand and advance work in energy storage, climate resilience, AI, and sustainability.
The space will support novel materials that repel heat, safer and longer-lasting batteries, and new ways to recycle wastewater into drinking water, alongside an AI-driven autonomous lab to accelerate materials discovery.
“The work that will be accomplished here will have an impact for not just our school, but for humanity and for our futures.” — UChicago PME Dean Nadya Mason
