Creating Awareness, Building a Clubfoot-Free India! 👣

Today, our team member, Ms K. Anuradha, District Program Coordinator (DPC), Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, had the opportunity to interact with the Assistant Directors from Srikakulam and Vizianagaram during their visit to the CRC.

The interaction focused on creating awareness about Clubfoot, the importance of early identification and timely treatment, and CURE India’s efforts to ensure that every child with Clubfoot receives the care they need.

Ms Anuradha shared information about CURE India’s work and the Ponseti Method, helping the visiting officials understand how early intervention can transform a child’s mobility and future.

The Assistant Director, Ms Chandrika, appreciated the initiative and expressed her commitment to informing the District Collector about Clubfoot and supporting an awareness programme at the Collectorate.

Together, we can strengthen awareness, encourage early referrals, and move closer to a Clubfoot-Free India by 2030.

169th Medical Training on the Ponseti Method | Kalaburagi, Karnataka 👣

CURE India successfully conducted its 169th Medical Training on the Ponseti Method of Clubfoot Management on 8 August 2026, in collaboration with M.R. Medical College & Basaveshwara Hospital, Kalaburagi, Karnataka.

The training was inaugurated by the hospital management, including the President, Dean, HoD, and faculty members, and was led by Dr Kiran Rajappa, Dr Abhishek S. Bhasme, and Dr Chandan Yadav Kulkarni.

More than 60 doctors actively participated in the training, engaging in both theoretical and practical sessions to strengthen their knowledge and skills in the Ponseti Method. Their enthusiasm and active participation made the training a meaningful learning experience.

A special appreciation to Ms Shalini Khelagi (DPC) and Mr Ravi Kumar for her excellent coordination and support in making the program smooth and well-organised.

CURE India extends heartfelt thanks to our Karnataka team, the hospital management, faculty members, trainers, guests, and all participating doctors for their valuable contribution and commitment towards improving clubfoot care.

Can one awareness session change the future of a child born with clubfoot?

Today, Ms Shweta Shilpa Sahu, District Program Coordinator (DPC), led a series of Clubfoot Awareness Sessions across Bargarh, Odisha, visiting Gurjibhata Anganwadi Centre, Gurjibhata Anganwadi Centre–2, Muslim Pada Anganwadi Centre, and Ranibandh Anganwadi Centre. Through these interactive sessions, Anganwadi workers learned about the importance of early identification, timely referral, and the life-changing impact of the Ponseti Method in treating clubfoot.

We sincerely thank the dedicated staff and participants of all four Anganwadi Centres for their warm hospitality, enthusiastic participation, and commitment to improving child health in their communities. Your support strengthens our mission of ensuring that every child with clubfoot is identified early and receives timely care.

How does awareness empower parents to stay committed to their child's clubfoot treatment journey?

Every informed parent becomes a stronger partner in ensuring a child completes treatment and grows up free from disability.

Our team member Ms Lalita and Ms Sushma from CURE India, along with Dr Vineet Arora, conducted an engaging parent awareness session on clubfoot at DDU Hospital, Delhi. The session focused on helping parents understand the importance of early treatment, consistent follow-up, brace compliance, and the long-term partnership between families, CURE India, and DDU Hospital.

Reflecting on the session, Dr Vineet Arora shared:

"Today we conducted an interactive session with the parents of children with clubfoot along with CURE India counsellors. The session aimed to create awareness about clubfoot and, more importantly, to strengthen the long-term relationship between families, CURE India, and DDU Hospital. It was a very successful interaction. Your counsellors have been very helpful."

We are grateful to the dedicated medical team at DDU Hospital for their continued collaboration in ensuring that every child with clubfoot receives not only quality treatment but also the support and guidance needed throughout their journey.

How can school-based awareness help change a child's future?

Our District Program Coordinator, Ms Nitu Gupta, from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, visited a local school to strengthen awareness about clubfoot among educators.

During the visit, she met with Principal Mr Prashant Kumar Gour along with teachers Ms Shagufta Anjun, Ms Poonam Bharti, and Ms Meenakshi Seth. An interactive awareness session was conducted to help participants recognise the signs of clubfoot, understand the importance of early referral, and encourage timely treatment using the Ponseti Method.

By empowering schools with the right knowledge, we can ensure that more children receive treatment at the right time and grow up free from disability.

Can awareness today help prevent a lifetime of disability?

The answer is yes; when communities come together, every child has a better chance at early diagnosis and timely treatment.

On 28th July 2026, CURE India successfully conducted a Clubfoot and Disability Awareness Programme at the ICDS Office, Zagadiya, Bharuch District, Gujarat, in collaboration with the ICDS Department.

The programme was graced by Mr Hemant Modi and Mr Sachin Kumar, partners at Saint-Gobain. We sincerely thank them for their valuable presence and support.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the CDPO, Supervisors, Coordinators, and all 70 Anganwadi Workers of Zagadiya Taluka for their enthusiastic participation and commitment to ensuring that every child receives timely care and support.

During the session, CURE India Gujarat State Programme Coordinator (SPC), Ms Sesil Isai, and Bharuch DPC, Ms Julia Macwan, shared valuable information on the early identification of clubfoot, the Ponseti Method of treatment, and awareness about childhood disabilities.

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated team members, Ms Sesil Isai (SPC, Gujarat) and Ms Julia Macwan (DPC, Bharuch), for leading this impactful awareness session and empowering Anganwadi workers with the knowledge to identify, refer, and support children with clubfoot and other childhood disabilities through timely intervention.

What happens when healthcare professionals are empowered to recognise developmental conditions at the earliest stage?

On 30th July 2026, CURE India, in collaboration with Children in India, successfully conducted an online RBSK Doctors Training for Jharkhand. The session strengthened the capacity of RBSK doctors to identify, refer, and manage children with clubfoot and other developmental delays, ensuring they receive the right care at the right time.
