Join us on our mission to help all children born with Clubfoot in India to ! 💪❤️ CURE International India began its service from April 2009 with a goal to eradicate disability caused by clubfoot in India and at present over 80,000 children are enrolled for free treatment in 351 designated weekly clubfoot clinics spread over all the 29 states in India. With over 150 children being born with clubfoot in India every day, the role of CURE India in establishing free clubfoot clinics is very relevant and significant. Through this initiative, CURE India aims to enlighten the public that clubfoot can be treated and neglected clubfoot leads to lifetime disability. From its inception CURE has worked primarily with government healthcare programs. This not only helps CURE India establish clubfoot clinics which provide care at no cost to families, but also allows CURE India to reach the poorest of the poor. With the partnering state governments, CURE agreed to manage weekly clubfoot clinics with the orthopedic department in government medical colleges and hospitals. In the partnership, government entities commit to assign doctors who will participate in the free clubfoot weekly clinics and ensure that the casting materials are available for the treatment. State office space is also allotted. Major roles of CURE International India in this partnership are: 1. Provide ongoing training to orthopedic surgeons on Ponseti method of Clubfoot treatment. 2. Maintain medical records for every child enrolled in the state for global research. 3. Provide Counselors who will work with parents to ensure clinic visits and check dropouts. 4. Distribute Foot Abduction Braces free of cost to every child for 4-5 years. 5. Maintain a 24×7 clubfoot helpline for every state. 6. Provide State Program Manager and Coordinator. Spreading Awareness, Restoring Steps: Clubfoot Awareness at Hansot, Bharuch.

CURE India organised an awareness program on clubfoot and other disabilities for Anganwadi workers and school girls at Ilav Ashram School, Hansot Taluka, Bharuch District (Gujarat). Mr Hemant Modi, Mr Nagji Rajput and Mr Gaurav Sharma, partners from Saint-Gobain, were specially present at the program. Along with them, the Mamlatdar, TDO, THO, Sarpanch, Mahila Morcha member, CDPO of Hansot Taluka (ICDS Division), Supervisors, Coordinators and Teachers also attended.

About 70 Anganwadi workers and 50 school girls participated with great enthusiasm. Ms Julia Mcwan (Bharuch District Coordinator) and Ms Sesil Isai (Gujarat State Program Coordinator) explained in a simple and clear way how to identify clubfoot, why timely treatment matters, how the treatment process works, and other important information. Clubfoot is treatable, and early detection can change a child's life.

Early Detection Saves a Lifetime of Movement.

A public awareness session was successfully conducted at CHC Kakori!

Our team engaged in one-to-one counselling with 100+ beneficiaries at the OPD — including antenatal mothers, postnatal mothers, and general patients.

The session, led by Ms Roopa William, Uttar Pradesh, covered CURE India's mission and the free clubfoot treatment available at KGMU, stressing why early identification at birth and timely referral within 0–2 months can change a child's life forever.

IEC materials were distributed, and details on the clubfoot clinic schedule, helpline number, and referral pathway were shared with all attendees.

Reaching pregnant women directly is key, it ensures early screening right at birth and helps prevent a lifelong disability that is 100% treatable if caught early.

Empowering dedicated women counselors.

Starting with just one or two, nearly 300 women counselors now form our backbone. They bridge the gap between families and doctors, guiding parents, distributing special shoes, and ensuring every child completes their clubfoot journey.

During a recent interaction from our Delhi clinic, our Founder and Director, Dr. Santosh George, witnessed this firsthand. A mother sat in tears, convinced her baby might never walk.

Our clinic counselor stepped in, not with medical terminology, but with genuine kindness. She sat down, held the mother's hand, answered every worry, and walked the parents through the Ponseti healing journey. Within moments, panic turned into hope.

Meet a five-year-old girl from Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, whose journey with clubfoot and a hip condition tested her family every step of the way but never broke their hope.

Today, she walks on her own and dreams of becoming a nurse, so she can help others the way she was helped.

Her story is proof: a child's future should never be defined by a physical impairment. With timely treatment, compassionate care, and family determination, every child can dream big.

Identification Camp – Clubfoot & Disability Awareness.

CURE India, Davanagere, conducted an Identification Camp on 18th September 2026 at GMHPS School, Bharamasagar, Davanagere District, Karnataka.

👣 Focus: Clubfoot Awareness
Ms. Sharadha N. (DPC) from CURE India led an important session on clubfoot — helping parents and teachers understand early signs, the importance of timely identification, and how early treatment can ensure a child grows up walking normally. Awareness about rehabilitation services and free assistive devices for persons with disabilities and elderly persons was also shared.

The programme was graced by Sh. Rashid (SDMC), Smt. Anupurna A. (In-charge Headmistress), Sh. Raju Naik (Assistant Teacher), Smt. Dhil Darban (Senior Teacher), and Smt. Pushpa B.M. (BERT), along with students, teachers, and parents.

60 participants benefited from the camp — students, teachers, parents, and elderly persons.
