Exosomes in OSTEOARTHRITIS

Part -3 GRAFT CHOICE IN ALL INSIDE ACL RECONSTRUCTION DISCUSSION WITH
If you’re considering ACL reconstruction, choosing a team that includes both an arthroscopic surgeon and a sports medicine doctor can significantly improve your chances of returning to sports.
An ACL tear isn’t just about the surgery—it’s about the entire journey back to sport. From the right surgical technique to a structured, sport-specific rehabilitation program, every step matters.
Remember, a successful ACL reconstruction isn’t measured by the operation alone. It’s measured by your safe return to the sport you love.

⚽ FIFA 11+ doesn’t just warm you up — it protects your ACL.
New research presented at ISAKOS 2025 (Munich) confirms what we’ve long suspected: after implementing the FIFA 11+ warm-up programme, female soccer players showed a significant reduction in knee valgus angle at landing — and that directly correlated with fewer ACL tears. 🔬
Here’s why that matters 👇
🦵 Knee valgus (inward collapse) at landing is the #1 mechanism of non-contact ACL injuries ⚡ Females are 3–6× more likely to tear their ACL than males 📉 Women’s ACL injury rates have been unchanged for 20+ years ✅ FIFA 11+ is one of the few evidence-based tools that actually moves the needle
And it costs nothing but 20 minutes.
If you coach, play, or treat female athletes — this warm-up should be non-negotiable. Save this post & share it with your team. 🔖

5 players. Same World Cup. Same torn ACL.

Not bad luck. A pattern.

⅔ of ACL tears happen with zero contact.
No tackle. No collision. Just a body that ran
out of capacity to protect itself.

The chain:
Fatigue → Loss of control → Poor deceleration
→ ACL overload.

Rodri warned us months ago that elite players
were being pushed past their limits.
The World Cup just proved him right.

And if you’re an athlete training hard on poor
sleep and zero recovery days — you’re running
the same risk. Different stage, same science.

Fatigue always sends the bill.

🚨 RF GRAFT vs HAMSTRING GRAFT — Which one should you choose?

RF (Re**us Femoris) Graft is gaining attention in ACL reconstruction, especially among athletes who need greater rotational stability.

But before jumping on the latest trend, here’s what you should know👇

✅ Current studies show similar clinical outcomes compared to hamstring grafts

✅ Quadriceps strength appears to recover well in the short term

✅ Allows combined ACL + ALL reconstruction

✅ May be beneficial for athletes involved in pivoting sports like football

However…

⚠️ There are currently NO randomized controlled trials

⚠️ No systematic reviews available yet

⚠️ Risk of extension deficit still exists

⚠️ Cyclops lesions may be more common

The real question isn’t:

❌ “Which graft is best?”

The real question is:

✅ “Which graft is best for YOUR sport, goals, and functional demands?”

If you are a footballer, basketball player, or athlete involved in cutting and pivoting sports, your answer may be different from a recreational gym-goer.

💬 Which graft would you choose and why?
