I was just there. One question to a room of children: โ€œHow should your school ID look?โ€

No lesson plan. No right answer. Just crayons and permission.

They built worlds on laminated cards.

Maybe the best teachers donโ€™t give answers. They give space. And in that space, a child remembers they are an artist. Creativity isnโ€™t extra. Free play isnโ€™t a break from learning. It _is_ learning โ€” the kind that sticks to your soul.

We tell our children to stand out. To be the โ€œstar performer.โ€ Perfect grades. Perfect choices. Perfect futures.

But somewhere in that pursuit of raising the exclusive, we forgot how to raise the inclusive.

Todayโ€™s teens grew up through lockdowns, isolation, uncertainty, and constant comparison. Classrooms became screens. Friends became thumbnails. And just when the world reopened, we demanded answers:

โ€œWhatโ€™s the plan?โ€
โ€œWhich college?โ€
โ€œWhat will you become?โ€

Fear of failure now sits quietly in every .

But children cannot grow where they are afraid to fail. Learning under judgment is not learning โ€” itโ€™s performance.

I see this during our sessions in . The moment children are given a safe space to express, the masks drop. They donโ€™t talk about marks. They talk about fear. Fear of disappointing parents. Fear of not being โ€œthe best.โ€

And yet, in those quiet moments of listening and breathing together, something beautiful happens:
They realise they are not alone.

The โ€œtopperโ€ and the struggling student sit together โ€” not as competitors, but as human beings.

That is the environment we need to rebuild.

Because children grow best not in pressure, but in trust.
Where failure is feedback, not a verdict.
And where being human matters more than being exclusive.

We tell our children to stand out. To be the best.."star performer". The one with perfect grades, perfect decisions, perfect futures. We call it โ€œraising them right.โ€ But what weโ€™re really doing is raising the and in that pursuit, weโ€™ve forgotten how to raise the .

The hard truth: when you raise a child to be exclusive, the learning is never non-judgmental. It canโ€™t be. Because โ€œexclusiveโ€ means comparison. It means a scoreboard.

I often wonder when we decided that a childโ€™s mind was a vessel for data rather than a garden for the soul... Subconsciously, we lean toward the "star performers," forgetting that a high IQ is a fragile, lonely thing without a healthy EQ to guide it.

It pains me deeply to see learning without laughter, or a child afraid to admit, "I do not understand." Real learning requires the freedom to be unsure.

This is why we started Indradhanush. My team and I travel to the breathtaking mountains of Uttarakhand every month to meet young teachers in DIET colleges. For five days, we set aside the spreadsheets and dive into pedagogies and Mindfulness practices. We want these young educators to fall in love with learning themselves, to feel the rhythm of a child-centric classroom before they ever stand at the front of one.

For years, I believed was a marathon of endless doing a race to outpace uncertainty by simply working harder. I thought my value was measured by the volume of my voice in the room. But I discovered that the most profound impact doesn't come from the loudest command; it comes from the deepest !!

True is born when the mental clutter of the "distraction economy" falls away, leaving room for sharp, whole-brain intuition. It took me years to realise that every meaningful action must be backed by to truly resonate. Without , we are merely reacting to the noise. With it, we become the calm center of the storm.

ELEVATE is an invitation to experience this shift firsthand. We bridge the gap between frantic hustle and sustainable balance, using neuroscience and mindfulness to ground our leadership in clarity. When you lead from a state of total awareness, your influence becomes effortless and your strategy becomes precise.

Stop managing the chaos and start commanding the room with your presence. Your impact is waiting to be felt.Inviting you to stop sprinting and start seeing. Join me in this space, where we lead not just with our minds, but with our whole, present selves ...write to us at [email protected]

"The Rabbit Listened" by Cori Doerrfeld

Focus: A masterclass in mindful presence. It teaches children (and parents) that sometimes the best way to "reconnect" is through silent, compassionate listening rather than digital noise.

"The Couch Potato" by Jory John

Focus: A hilarious look at a potato who has every gadget imaginable until a power outage forces him outside. Itโ€™s the perfect "mirror" for kids to see the high-definition beauty of the real world.

"Beautiful Oops!" by Barney Saltzberg

Focus: This book celebrates the messiness of life. In a digital world obsessed with filters and perfection, it teaches kids to embrace mistakes and turn them into something creative.

"The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse" by Charlie Mackesy

Focus: A visual meditation on kindness and self-worth. Its slow pace and deep wisdom encourage the kind of "deep work" and reflection that screens often steal from us.

"The Bouquetof Mindfulness" by Dimple Mehta

Focus: An "interactive" book about Mindfulness and connecting with human senses. Experiencing the magic of mindfulness. Activities are simple, fun and age appropriate. Children will learn about breathing, listening, eating and so many other daily practices with the dash of mindfulness.

A Bouquet of Mindfulness: compilation of simple practices for children
