We are glad to inform you that the Mayo Alumni Monthly Meet held yesterday was a great success, with an enthusiastic gathering of 61 Mayoites. The evening provided a wonderful opportunity for alumni to reconnect, engage in meaningful conversations, and strengthen the Mayo fraternity.

Major Maroof Raza has passed away after a courageous battle fought until the very end.

The funeral service will take place at 3:45 PM tomorrow, 27 February 2026, at Anjuman Baghiya, Sector 56, Gurugram.

A military memorial service will also take place at the same location. Men and women are both welcome to attend.

We deeply mourn the passing of Major Maroof Raza (School Captain, Batch of 1975), a proud alumnus whose life was marked by service, scholarship, and leadership. A retired Indian Army officer with extensive experience in counter-insurgency operations, he went on to become a respected strategic affairs expert, author, and commentator.

From his Times of India Fellowship to his visiting fellowships at leading global institutions, his academic and professional contributions enriched national security discourse. His work as a lecturer, writer, and media voice inspired countless minds in India and abroad.

The Mayo College community remembers him with great respect and gratitude. Our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. His legacy will continue to inspire generations of Mayoites.
