This World Refugee Day, Acadmaze has taken up the task to recognize the intricate,state-of-the-art innovations developed by Refugees,the people who are forced to flee for their livelihoods and safety,and yet excel in their respective fields by making their way through these various adversities. We present you three innovations that Refugees have developed, the prospects of which continue to provide a new hope to their disheartened lives.

The largest solar plant ever built in a refugee camp – the size of 33 football fields – powers the Za’atari refugee camp in Jordan. Before the solar plant, energy was expensive and less reliable, with families only able to use electricity for 6-8 hours a day.The benefits of the solar plant are far-reaching: The plant provides 12 to 14 hours of power per day, which allows children to study at night, families to more safely walk in the camp, food to stay fresh longer, and more.

The second innovation also includes Syrian refugees trained in robotics at the Jubilee Center for Excellence in Education in Jordan and worked on the problem at the Innovation Lab in the giant Za’atari camp. They've created a robot which consists of simple Lego bricks, as well as the ‘brain’ and the sensor,which is basically a robotic soap and sanitizer dispenser.

The third name in our list is 'Robogee', a creation made by the sheer efforts of the Hope team members belonging from Syria-Maher El Assawi, Ammar Kabbour, Salam Al Farekh, Youssef Shaaban, and Amina Kabbour , who believe that the obstacles and difficulties they faced in war-torn Syria, motivated them to make the world a better place through robotics and artificial intelligence. Robogee has been educating people on the struggles of refugees and the obstacles they need to overcome, and the another major motive being the cleansing of the oceans.

Divya is a Senior Undergraduate in Chemical Engineering at IIT Delhi and is currently a Teaching Assistant in the field of Biology for Engineers. She has been a part of the Summer Research Internship at Harvard Medical School twice. She is now going to pursue her PhD from the University of Oxford.

Divya Choudhary is one of the most exceptional Chemical Engineers, and Acadmaze is honored to announce her as the Keynote Speaker at this webinar.
