Welcoming Our CEO to Goa 🎶

It was a great pleasure and privilege to welcome Mr. Chris Cobb, CEO of ABRSM, to Goa for a warm and memorable gathering with Ms. Sonia Khan, Representative and Head of ABRSM India, and our Honorary Local Representative, Dr. Meenakshi Bawa, together with teachers, parents and pupils from across Goa.

The gathering provided a wonderful opportunity for our music education community to meet the ABRSM leadership team and engage in an inspiring and meaningful conversation about music education and the journey of ABRSM.

Mr. Chris Cobb spoke about ABRSM, its vision and its continued commitment to supporting high-quality music education worldwide. He also answered some particularly interesting questions about his own journey to becoming CEO. Sharing his perspective as an educationist with a technical and management background, rather than as a professional musician, Mr. Cobb explained how this diverse experience has helped him lead ABRSM and contribute to its continued development and growth.

Ms. Sonia Khan, Representative and Head of ABRSM India, warmly welcomed the august gathering and expressed her sincere gratitude to the teachers and families for their continued belief in the ABRSM curriculum and for choosing ABRSM as their examination board.

She spoke about the lasting benefits of music education, the value of structured musical learning, and the importance of an ABRSM qualification in recognising and celebrating a pupil’s musical progress, commitment and achievement.

The gathering was warmly received by all. Parents and teachers greatly appreciated the opportunity to meet the ABRSM leadership team personally, exchange thoughts and ask questions. Their enthusiasm and appreciation made the occasion a truly special celebration of music education, achievement and the growing ABRSM community in Goa.

ABRSM in India remains committed to working closely with teachers, parents, schools and young musicians to nurture a lifelong love of music and support the highest standards of musical education. 🎼

UPDATE: Music Theory and Performance Grade Exam Certificates Now Available!

ABRSM India has received certificates for exams conducted and results published between June and August 2026. These certificates are reserved for candidates who specifically ordered a paper copy. Distribution is expected to be completed by mid September .
