Foldscope which the foldable microscope (a device used to see things which cannot be seen by our naked eyes) invented by Manu Prakash, an Indian born scientist, now is a Professor of Bioengineer at Standford University together with Jim Cybulski.
It is a paper microscope that has the magnification power of 140X with a resolution of 2 microns. Disease-specific Foldscope designs have been developed for specific diagnosis purposes like for malaria, Leishmania donovani, Chagas parasite etc. Where specific filters, lenses for magnification and specific light source have been used for modification.
