India’s Neeraj Chopra topped the men’s Javelin Throw scoreboard with a throw of 87.58 metres. This is the first medal in Athletics for India after almost 121 years. With this, Chopra becomes the Second ever individual Gold Medallist for the country, after shooter Abhinav Bindra in 2008.
