🔄 What if the food pyramid was upside down?
For decades, we’ve been taught to build our diets from the bottom up—starting with carbohydrates and limiting fats. But modern nutrition conversations are challenging that idea and asking a different question: What if we prioritized nutrient-dense, protein-rich foods instead?
This upside-down food pyramid flips the focus toward high-quality protein and naturally occurring fats, including foods like eggs, steak, fish, and dairy. These foods are rich in essential amino acids, vitamins like B12 and D, iron, zinc, and fats that play a key role in hormone production, brain health, and long-lasting energy.
Rather than fearing saturated fat, this approach emphasizes context and quality—whole foods over ultra-processed ones, balance over extremes, and nourishment over calorie counting. Protein sits at the top because it supports muscle, satiety, metabolic health, and overall strength, while refined carbs and sugars move lower on the priority list.
