Today, I mark your birthday beyond the veil —
Yet your light still guides us, steady as dawn.
In every breath of vinyasa, in every moment of stillness,
Your teachings whisper: “Keep going, stay true.”

Though your body is absent, your presence remains:
In the shifts we feel, the opening we trust,
In the lineage you upheld — with grace, humility, fire.

You taught us to bend, to surrender, to rise —
Not just in pose, but in heart.
Your legacy is not stone, but living:
In every student’s breath, every intention to grow.

On this day, we bow to you,

With devotion that time cannot erase.

Flooded with memories since I heard the news—it still feels so surreal. Each morning waiting for my turn to enter the Shala was a ritual of its own, filled with a mix of anticipation and quiet excitement. Guruji had a beautiful way of making every one of us feel acknowledged and valued. He would call us in, one by one, often adding a playful nickname that instantly brightened our spirits. His humor was gentle, his warmth undeniable, and he made the practice feel like a true home.

Whenever the chatter would start, he’d smile and say, “Only one person will talk here—that’s me,” a gentle reminder to keep us focused. This was his way, skillfully balancing discipline with kindness, and he filled the Shala with his unique light. Each moment spent there under his guidance remains a precious memory, woven into my heart.

And those Saturday conferences…those moments were sacred, as he shared wisdom that went beyond asanas. He never allowed recordings, asking us to be fully present and to absorb his words. Those teachings, which I wish I could hear again now, will forever remain in my heart.

I am going to miss everything about Guruji—his kind eyes, the way he called my name, his childlike smile, and the wisdom he shared so freely. Though he has left this earthly body, he lives on in every breath, every chant, and every movement we dedicate to this path.
