We're immensely proud of Niharika, first year MA Media Governance student at CCMG, for being selected for the prestigious Abhijit Sen Rural Internship by the National Foundation for India (NFI).
The internship honors the legacy of economist Abhijit Sen and encourages young changemakers to learn at the grassroot level.
They select upto 100 students all over India for this internship. It is a great opportunity towards rigorous academic scholarship amongst university students.
Niharika's passion for public engagement, academia, and social justice truly reflects the spirit of CCMG.

On 7th March 2025, the Centre for Culture, Media & Governance, Jamia Millia Islamia, hosted a special screening of Aamis, followed by an insightful discussion with its director, Bhaskar Hazarika.
The event saw a diverse audience, including students from various centres and departments, engaging in a thought-provoking conversation on filmmaking, screenwriting, and the portrayal of social taboos in cinema. Hazarika shared his creative process, the challenges of independent filmmaking, and how storytelling can push boundaries in meaningful ways.

Join us for a special Movie Screening & Discussion on 7th March (Friday), 12 PM – 2:30 PM, featuring the critically acclaimed film Aamis. A psychological drama exploring unconventional human desires, Aamis has been widely recognized for its bold storytelling and unique narratives.
The session will be joined by Mr. Bhaskar Hazarika, Aamis’ director, known for his distinct storytelling style in cinemas. He will engage in an interactive discussion post-screening.

Centre for Culture, Media and Governance held a lecture on Photojournalism in the democratisation of Indian society (1950-70) by Javed Sultan, a distinguished and award winning professional photographer.
He gave insights on the trajectory of photojournalism in India and how it helped the process of democratisation. The lecture was followed by a QnA session.
