Imitation milestones appear early and build step by step.
When they emerge on time, learning flows.
When they don’t, children need guided experiences—not waiting.
Here’s what every parent should observe.

Imitation Series | How to Teach Imitation 🧠👏
In this post, we are showing you step-by-step how to teach a child to clap — a simple action with huge developmental value.
1: Get down to the child’s level.
Face-to-face interaction builds attention first.
2: Model the action clearly.
Slow, exaggerated clapping helps the brain process the movement.
3: Pause and wait.
Give the child time to observe, think, and attempt.
4: Assist if needed.
Gentle hand-over-hand support is okay — independence will follow.
5: Celebrate every effort.
Imitation grows with encouragement, not pressure.
Follow our Imitation Series as we break down complex developmental skills into simple, doable steps for parents.

📱 Screen Time: A Gentle New-Year Reminder for All Parents
Every home is dealing with screens.
So instead of blaming or judging, let’s support and remind each other.
📌 Science tells us:
Excessive or unstructured screen time in early childhood is linked to
• reduced attention
• delayed language & social skills
• fewer real-life learning experiences
At Sensitivity, we follow research-proven guidelines, not trends.
Screens are not evil—but how, when, and how much matters.
✨ So what can replace screen time?
Simple, powerful, and evidence-based:
🤲 Handful play – blocks, dough, puzzles, everyday objects
🤼 Rough-and-tumble play – rolling, pushing, climbing (yes, safely!)
🏃 Motor-based play – animal walks, ball play, obstacle courses
🧩 Activity-based play – sorting, matching, pretend play
👨👩👧 Real interaction – talk, sing, respond, pause, connect
💡 Remember:
A child’s brain grows through movement, touch, connection and shared joy—not swipes.
This year, let’s be kinder to ourselves…
and more intentional for our children.
Parenting is a team effort. Let’s help each other do better. 💛

Reading is not a race. It’s a rope—strong only when every strand is woven well. 🧶📖
At Sensitivity, we follow the Scarborough Reading Rope, a research-proven, scientific framework that shows how children truly become readers.
When children come to us early—from a speech and language perspective—we don’t jump straight into reading or writing as a skill.
Instead, we carefully strengthen every strand of the rope: • Spoken language & vocabulary
• Language comprehension
• Sound awareness & word recognition
• Meaning-making, not rote reading
Because reading is the outcome, not the starting point.
When parents understand this process and blend with the approach, outcomes are deeper, stronger, and long-lasting.
Not rushed. Not superficial. But truly functional.
✨ Trust the science.
✨ Trust the process.
✨ Build readers the right way.
