Deadlines to apply

Business Schools globally have set timelines for applicants to submit their applications. Aspirants who are aiming to get into top 30 B Schools must follow the deadlines and accordingly plan their GMAT/GRE preparations. For aspirants who have 2-4 years of experience post their undergrad should aim to apply in Round 1 – starts early September to Early November every calendar year. Round 1 application will allow young candidates to submit their competitive applications so as to maximize their chances to get evaluative interview invites.

Round 2 – Different B Schools do have their own Round of applications but generally 2nd round starts early January to 15 January every year for all top schools. This round is effectively more competitive as number of applicant pool multiplies. International applicants are advised to apply latest by the round 2.

Round 3 – Round 3 application generally starts by March and ends by early April every year. This round is meant only for domestic students and International students are advised not to apply because of the Visa Issue. Round 3 is something that can be used by the international students as a strategy for Round 1 re- applications even after being rejected by the school.

Profile analysis

Analyzing profile is an important task that every applicant is required to do before even thinking about his/her MBA aspirations. The profile must be De-constructed basis following Questions –

• Who Am I? – To answer this Pertinent Question, one needs to break down profile basis –

o Teamwork
o Innovation
o Maturity
o Strengths
o Areas of development
o Progression
o Impact

• What I Expect?–The answer of this question is also very important because role envisioning post grad program is critical to map it perfectly with B schools to help realize the expected transition. Goal Clarity task at this stage become one big thing to devise realistic and aspiration goals, thus leading to a strategy to apply the data while preparing application.

B School Selection- A critical task

The global higher education space is becoming competitive every passing day and getting into the top MBA programs globally has become tougher. Historically from India, 70% of the people who apply to top 30 Business Schools are from IT background with high GMAT. The average GMAT of Indians in top 25 B Schools has crossed a level of 730 plus.

The Indian applicants generally don’t follow the process of fitment analysis with the B schools and that leads them to a situation where they are rejected by most of schools.
