Why Methodology Should Be Taught Before Publishing
India pushes students to publish before teaching them how to do research.
This creates a fragile academic culture: papers without purpose, conclusions without structure, and methods chosen randomly rather than logically.
Methodology is the engine of research.
Without it, “research” becomes documentation, not discovery.
If institutions invested in teaching methodology early — literature reviews, variable identification, research design, sampling, ethics — much of the publishing pressure would dissolve naturally.
Students would approach journals with clarity, not fear.
Publishing is the outcome.
Methodology is the foundation.
