Bonjourrrrr! 🇫🇷
A little motivation for everyone planning to take the TEF exam.
One of our students, Deeksha, achieved CLB 8 in TEF, and today I want to share the exact reasons why.
🇨🇦 Her learning journey was structured
Deeksha joined us at A2, completed B1, and immediately after that, she started her TEF preparation. There were no long breaks, no loss of momentum.
🇨🇦 She treated the language like a subject
Coming from a professional background, she has experience with competitive exams. She understood one important truth: even a language exam needs to be treated like a subject.
(Honestly, I’m not a big fan of this idea, but that’s the reality of exam preparation.)
🇨🇦 Daily reading was her mantra
She was part of a B1 batch where all students were strong readers, and they read even outside class. I consciously worked on improving their reading awareness how to retain what they read and how to apply it to writing and speaking.
We read a wide variety of articles together, and I clearly remember Deeksha going far beyond the given resources, researching the same themes independently.
🇨🇦 Consistent writing practice
She worked on her writing skills every week, completing at least 2–3 writing tasks weekly without fail.
🇨🇦 Intensive listening practice before the exam
In the last two months before the exam, she took a PrepMyFuture subscription and practiced listening rigorously, repeating each audio 4–5 times until it became second nature.
✨ To conclude, what truly worked in her case was seriousness, consistency, and a very positive mindset.
I’ll end by sharing her last message to me before she entered the exam hall:
“- So, what do I get if I clear this exam? 🐒
The right to disturb you freely again for DELF B2?” 😛
Now that is affirmation. 💫
As a result, she became extremely comfortable with C1-level vocabulary and could understand all kinds of content with confidence.
Dm to start your French journey 🇨🇦🇫🇷
