A graphic novelist talks about finding her place at the (literary) table, and the effort to hold onto that place at the literary table, telling stories that aren't being currently told, and telling them in a way that actually holds an increasingly attention-deficit audience. A personal journey in visuals and words.
Amruta Patil is a graphic novelist, visual artist and writer. She is the author of the graphic novels Kari, Adi Parva: Churning of the Ocean, Sauptik: Blood and Flowers, and Aranyaka. Hailed as India's first female graphic novelist, she is also a recipient of the Ministry of Women and Child Development's Nari Shakti Puraskar.
