Janmashtami, known as Krishna Janmashtami or Gokulashtami, is a Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It's a significant event in Hinduism, observed with great devotion and enthusiasm across India and other parts of the world. Here are some key details about the festival:1. Date and Significance:Janmashtami usually falls in the month of August or September, on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada. The festival marks the birth of Lord Krishna, who is believed to have been born at midnight in a prison in Mathura to Vasudeva and Devaki.2. These plays depict various episodes from Krishna's life, particularly his playful and mischievous activities with the Gopis (milkmaids).3. Temple Celebrations:Temples dedicated to Krishna, such as the Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple in Mathura, the Dwarkadhish Temple in D
