At Institute of Home Economics (University of Delhi), we are committed to nurture -leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs who can create , power organizations, create value and can make positive in improving quality of lives of people along with country’s . Department of Resource Management and Design Application, one of the five departments of Home Science IHE, teaches entrepreneurship in core curriculum where the department infuses real-world entrepreneurial skills and cultivate innovative talents within the student.
With the same legacy, Department of Resource Management and Design Application is organizing their Entrepreneurship Summit’21 on the theme ‘Entrepreneurship-Diverging Prospects & Emerging Resilience’ to foster entrepreneurial initiatives and activities in the campus. The Summit envisions and explores recent shifts and trends seen in areas of the entrepreneurial . Since -19 has disrupted the global economy and impacted entrepreneurship in an unprecedented ways. This summit would provide a platform for the entrepreneurs to gain knowledge and experiential learning before they can actually enter the market. The Summit will be the confluence of ideas comprising of inspiring talks by eminent personalities, networking opportunities, enriching technical sessions and thought provoking competitions. Department of Resource Management and Design Applications is introducing a short term course in interior design.This course offers an opportunity for the students to develop an understanding of design relating to residential spaces with technical skills and aesthetics applied in the realm of form and function.
The learners/students will be equipped to make material boards ,structured visual elements with the help of hand drafting as well as AutoCAD, visual impact of colours in spatial relationships, furniture sketches, colour rendering and important data on construction with the help of practical exposure through site visits along with classroom sessions. We will also be introducing the students with the concept of biophillic design.
Anyone with an eye for good aesthetics and a passion for beautiful spaces would benefit from this course.

Event management is an exciting and rapidly expanding field. This course allows students to build their understanding of the base body of knowledge, theory and methodology that underpins modern event management.

This short-term course aims to provide students with the numerous skills needed to manage successful events. By learning how to plan, co-ordinate, implement and evaluate events, students will learn best industry practice. Students will have the opportunity to put together their event project/plan which will allow them to manage the concept and idea through to the proposal and implementation of the event. The course incorporates case studies, practical exposure and guest speakers from various event industries to provide a contemporary context for examining best practice in event management.
