If you could teach every girl just one life skill that would help keep her safe, what would it be?

हर बेटी के भीतर एक सुरक्षा प्रणाली होती है।
उसे पहचानना भी सिखाइए।
How do we introduce girls to the extraordinary power they already possess?
When we talk about girls' safety, our first instinct is often to ask...
"How do we protect our daughters?"
Perhaps we should begin by asking a different question.
"How do we build daughters who are aware, capable, resilient and confident enough to navigate the world safely?"
As someone who has spent over two decades working in aviation, studying Human Factors, and now working closely with educators, parents and children, I have learned one important lesson:
Safety is rarely accidental. It is designed, practised and strengthened.
We cannot build a safer society by asking girls to dream less or by clipping their wings.
We build safety by nurturing awareness. By teaching observation. By encouraging good judgement. By strengthening communication within families. By practising safety before an emergency ever occurs. By helping girls develop the confidence to say "No" and the wisdom to trust their instincts.
That is the philosophy behind my latest cover story published in Madhurima, the weekend magazine of Dainik Bhaskar.
It was a privilege to contribute to a subject that concerns every parent, educator and every girl who dreams of exploring the world.
If you happen to pick up today's edition, I hope you'll give it a read.
Perhaps you'll keep the article as a reference.
Perhaps you'll discuss it with your daughter.
Perhaps you'll share it with your students.
Perhaps it will start an important conversation in your family.
Because girls do not need smaller dreams.
They need stronger wings.
And maybe that's where safety truly begins.
