Finding your focus as an Artist can be difficult, but here are some tips to help you stay on track and develop your creative career :

𝟏) 𝐅𝐎𝐂𝐔𝐒 𝗪𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐘𝐎𝐔'𝐑𝐄 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐇 - Tackle the projects that require "hard focus" early in your day. Self control & our ability to resist distractions - declines as the day goes on !

𝟐) 𝐊𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 𝐍𝐎𝐈𝐒𝐄 - Turn off your phone, whatsapp, email, social media & any apps unrelated to Music Production or your task. Even the presence of background activity (and temptation) can drain your focus

𝟑) 𝐃𝐄𝐅𝐄𝐍𝐃 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 - Book time on your calendar for uninterupted, focused work and respect those blocks of time as you would any client meeting.

𝟒) 𝐆𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍 𝐀 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊 - Stuff like doing chores is classified as a 'Mindless' task. Conversely the core tasks of problem solving and invention that relate to one's creative pursuits are classified as 'Mindful,. Shifting from Mindful to Mindless tasks gives the brain time to process complex problems in a relaxed state & also restores the energy necessary for the next round of mindful work.

Never ever export a song and call it “𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥”. That’s a slippery slope. Rather use the below format:

Where purpose is something like “mix” or “mastered” or “demo” or “forXYZ.” This format really helps when revisiting things.

When you first start out, there is no time for leisure if you want to crush it. It takes a lot of time & stamina to get your DJ/Producer Artist brand off the ground. It is a lot easier to devote all your time to your artistic endeavors when you’re in your early 20’s & single with no one to answer to but yourself. Deploy ungodly amounts of hard work from Monday to Friday, plus all day Saturdays & Sundays. Ideally you wouldnt feel losing your leisure time as you are building a career around the thing you love the most i.e MUSIC

In this post we share superstar EDM DJ/Producer 's journey from being a number cruncher as a CA to performing at India's biggest music festivals & concerts.

Looking at successful DJs performing big shows & having popular releases it appears like they’ve always been there at the Top. But we forget that they all start in the same place as we do i.e at the bottom ! So if you’re working a day job, in a different career, and think you don't have enough time or money to pursue a career in Music - It’s ok ! Mostly everyone starts there. All you need is a relentless attitude without blaming your circumstances and begin with whatever little resources you have. Hope 's story gives you inspiration to chase your musical dreams. If he can do it, so can you. You’re on the right path. Keep pushing forward !

Spent incredible 4 months teaching & mentoring these lovely students from India, Canada, Dubai & Bahrain who were shortlisted from hundreds of applications we received for the Mentorship Program. Most of them have a day job and yet have the hunger to pursue their passion for creating music. This passion is what makes it worth my time. Its been a pleasure sharing my knowledge and helping them learn the art of making music. Cant wait to see the magic these guys are going to create in the times to come. Gonna miss them & our Zoom video calls but we'll always be connected via our Whatsapp Group.

Stop fearing & assuming you're not good enough. Send your music to Labels, Playlist curators, YouTube channels. Worst case scenario, they don't like it. But at least you tried. Best case scenario , they love it & release it & people share it.

The answer is always NO until you Ask !
