National Forensic Sciences University, Delhi Campus conducted the 1st Special Course on Cyber Security & Cyber Crime for law enforcement agencies, in association with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), Ministry of Home Affairs from September 21-25, 2026. The specialised programme brought together personnel from law enforcement agencies for an intensive learning experience focused on contemporary challenges in cybercrime, cybersecurity, digital investigations, and the handling of digital evidence.

The programme provided participants with intensive training on contemporary issues in cybercrime, cybersecurity, digital investigations, and digital evidence. Key topics included AI-enabled cybercrime and deepfake forensics, digital evidence and chain of custody, mobile and cloud forensics, CCTV and image forensics, CDR/IPDR analysis, drone forensics, social media investigations, OSINT, online financial fraud, and cryptocurrency-enabled crime. The course emphasized practical demonstrations, case-based learning, and investigative applications.

A major highlight was the visit to IFSO, Delhi Police, which offered valuable exposure to real-world cybercrime investigation and digital forensic practices. The programme also examined the application of new criminal laws in the digital era and the admissibility of digital evidence.

The training was coordinated by Dr. Parul Arora and Ms. Kanupriya Shrivastava, under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal, Campus Director and Prof. (Dr.) Minakshi Sinha, Deputy Director (Training), NFSU, Delhi Campus.

We are pleased to welcome participants to the 9th Course on Emerging Trends in Banking & Corporate Frauds and Their Detection, including Online Frauds, being conducted from September 28–30, 2026 at the National Forensic Sciences University, Delhi Campus.

The inaugural session was graced by Shri Jaspal Singh, Chair Professor, Criminology and former IPS officer, who set the tone for an engaging, practical, and outcome-oriented training programme. His insightful address emphasized the importance of strengthening professional capabilities, encouraging multidisciplinary learning, and fostering healthier approaches to detecting and combating emerging forms of financial and cyber-enabled fraud.

This three-day intensive programme brings together judges, law enforcement officers, banking professionals, forensic experts, and regulators to strengthen frontline capabilities against rapidly evolving financial crimes. The course offers a comprehensive exploration of fraud, from landmark corporate scandals to emerging threats such as AI-driven phishing, deepfakes, and cryptocurrency enabled financial crimes.

With expert-led sessions and case-based insights, the programme aims to equip participants with practical tools and multidisciplinary perspectives essential for tackling complex white-collar and cyber-enabled frauds. We look forward to insightful discussions, knowledge exchange, and impactful learning over the next three days.

The School of Law, Forensic Justice and Policy Studies (SLFJPS), National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Delhi Campus, had the privilege of organising a distinguished talk on “Autonomy at War: Law, Machines and Accountability”, delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Sanoj Rajan, Distinguished Professor at Zhejiang Gongshang University, Hangzhou, China; Visiting Professor at Soochow University, Taipei, Taiwan; and Rotary Peace Fellow at International Christian University, Tokyo, on September 22, 2026.

The session offered an engaging and thought-provoking exploration of the rapidly evolving role of artificial intelligence and autonomous technologies in modern warfare, with particular emphasis on their legal, ethical, humanitarian and policy implications.

Through practical examples and perspectives, Prof. Rajan examined the complex questions surrounding machine autonomy, human control, accountability, responsibility and the regulation of emerging military technologies. His discussion provided students and faculty with valuable insights into the challenges that increasingly arise at the intersection of law, technology, armed conflict and human rights.

The School of Behavioural Forensics, National Forensic Sciences University, Delhi Campus, organised an expert session on “Media and Its Role in Reporting of Human Rights Violations” on September 25, 2026.

The session featured Shri J.K. Srivastava, Deputy Director (Media & Communication), National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), who shared valuable insights into the role of media in highlighting human rights concerns.

Emphasising the importance of responsible, ethical and objective journalism, Shri Srivastava highlighted how accurate reporting can help bring instances of human rights violations to public attention and strengthen institutional accountability.

The session provided students and faculty with an opportunity to engage with the intersection of media, human rights and responsible communication, fostering greater awareness of the role of journalism in a democratic society.

The School of Law, Forensic Justice and Policy Studies (SLFJPS), National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Delhi Campus, organised a visit to the Law Commission of India for the B.B.A.; LL.B. (Hons.) students on September 23, 2026.

During the course of the visit, students interacted with Dr. Anju Rathi Rana, Member Secretary, Law Commission of India. The interaction gave students an opportunity to understand the functioning of the Commission, its role in law reform, and the process behind recommendations that shape legislative change. It was a valuable experience that offered a closer perspective on how law, policy, and reform operate in practice.

The School of Law, Forensic Justice and Policy Studies, National Forensic Sciences University, Delhi Campus organised an educational visit to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) for the students of LL.M. (Criminal Law and Criminal Justice Administration) on September 24, 2026.

The visit provided practical insight into the functioning of India’s technology driven criminal justice system. It comprised of five technical sessions covering the organisational structure and functioning of NCRB, NAFIS, CCTNS, ICJS, citizen-centric police services and crime databases. Further, students were oriented on how CCTNS facilitates digital crime and criminal records, while NAFIS enables automated fingerprint identification.

The School of Law, Forensic Justice & Policy Studies, National Forensic Sciences University, Delhi Campus, organised an educational visit to the National Police Memorial, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, for the first-year students of B.B.A.; LL.B. (Hons.) on September 26, 2026.

The visit commenced with an overview of the history, significance, and purpose of the National Police Memorial, followed by a documentary presentation highlighting its establishment and the contributions and sacrifices of uniformed personnel in the service of the nation. Students also interacted with senior officers and gained a nuanced understanding of the functions and responsibility of India’s policing and security institutions.

A significant highlight of the visit was witnessing the Beating Retreat ceremony performed by the CISF Brass Band, hosted by the Inspector General, CISF, offering students meaningful exposure to an important aspect of India’s uniformed services and security heritage.

School of Law, Forensic Justice and Policy Studies, National Forensic Sciences University, Delhi Campus organised an educational visit to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), New Delhi for the students of B.B.A.; LL.B. (Hons.) on September 25, 2026.

The visit provided students with valuable exposure to the functioning of NCRB and its pivotal role in India's criminal justice system. Through expert-led sessions, students gained insights into the collection and compilation of national crime statistics, the National Automated Fingerprint Identification System (NAFIS), the Criminal Procedure (Identification) Act, 2022, the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS), and the Inter-Operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS), including initiatives such as e-Summon and e-Sakshya.

The interaction offered a practical understanding of how technology, forensic science, and data-driven governance are transforming criminal justice administration in India.

The Internship Assistance Cell (IAC), School of Law, Forensic Justice & Policy Studies (SLFJPS), National Forensic Sciences University, Delhi Campus, hosted Ms. Toshika Soni, Corporate & Competition Lawyer, for an insightful session titled “Unlawcking: Breaking In and Moving Up in a Law Firm” on September 25, 2026.

Drawing from her professional experience, Ms. Soni shared valuable insights on navigating Tier-1 law firm applications, understanding workplace expectations, and building a successful long-term career in corporate law. The session provided students with practical strategies and a realistic perspective on building a career in the corporate legal sector.

The event was successfully organized through the efforts of the IAC student team comprising of Ms. Neelambari Ganga S, Ms. Shruti Sheel, Ms. Aleena Mary Joseph, Mr. Bhuvan Mishra, and others, under the coordination of Dr. Mradul Singh, Assistant Professor and Faculty Coordinator, IAC, SLFJPS, NFSU, Delhi Campus.

The National Forensic Sciences University, Delhi Campus hosted SĀKSHYA 2026, a three-day Forensic Fest that celebrated scientific inquiry, critical thinking, innovation, and the pursuit of truth from September 22-24, 2026.

From forensic documentation and visual storytelling to evidence-based challenges, scientific demonstrations, report writing, courtroom testimony and analytical quizzes, SĀKSHYA 2026 provided participants with an engaging platform to experience forensic science beyond the classroom.

Day 1 the started with the forensic photography competition, followed by a poster making competition, and a live demonstration of fake and genuine FICN detection tools, offering participants an insight into the technique used to distinguish fake currency notes from genuine currency.

On Day 2 of the event, participants took part in an exciting treasure hunt, followed by a pictionary competition where the creative fusion of art and forensic terminology challenged participants to communicate forensic concepts through visual representation. This was followed with a demonstration of forensic instruments.

The final day of the event, focused on the art of forensic report writing and courtroom testimony, where participants presented investigative findings into forensic reports and assumed the role of expert witnesses and presented their findings in a simulated courtroom environment. Lastly, the fest concluded with a quiz competition that tested participants' forensic conceptual knowledge and critical thinking skills.

SĀKSHYA 2026 celebrated the multidisciplinary nature of forensic science while igniting curiosity, collaboration and professionalism.
