🇮🇳 NAGARIK KARTAVYA | A WORKSHOP ON CIVIC RESPONSIBILITY

"Citizenship isn't just about knowing our rights — it's about practicing our duties every single day."

On 25 September 2026, the Swatantra Jann Awaaz Foundation partnered with NSS, Bharati College, University of Delhi to host a thought-provoking workshop titled "Nagarik Kartavya" (Civic Duties), held at the Conference Hall, Bharati College.

Educators, legal professionals, social workers and students came together to explore what responsible citizenship really means in practice. Prof. (Dr.) Saloni Gupta, Principal, Bharati College, spoke about how civic values shape student life and how they align naturally with the mission of NSS.

Adv. Vasundhara Shankar, Founder of Swatantra Jann Awaaz Foundation, along with Adv. Prashant Ji, urged students to move past mere criticism and instead take an active role in creating solutions. The conversation touched on empathy, self-awareness, mutual respect, cleanliness, waste management, thoughtful use of shared spaces, and responsible behavior online.

The standout moment of the day was a hands-on group activity, where students collaborated across different civic themes, shared viewpoints, and pitched real-world solutions. This turned the workshop from a simple talk into a genuine space for reflection, conversation and shared learning.

The takeaway was clear and powerful: real change starts with the individual. Whether it's keeping shared spaces clean, fact-checking before sharing information, respecting public areas, or simply being mindful of others — small daily choices add up to shape our society.

The event was made possible with support from Dr. Bhawna Shivan, Event Coordinator; Shreeya Singh, Advisor; and Aditi Singh, Vice-President, together with the committed NSS Bharati College team, volunteers, and students from the Sociology Department.

On 20th September 2026, Bharati College, University of Delhi, came together to celebrate its 55th Annual Day—a grand celebration where the institution’s rich legacy met the energy of its present and the promise of its future.

The occasion was graced by Shri Ashish Sood, Minister of Home, Power and Education, Government of Delhi, as the Chief Guest, with Dr. Gopi Chand Merugu, Joint Secretary, UGC, and Prof. Rajni Abbi, Director, South Campus, as Guests of Honour. 🌸 पढ़ाई के साथ-साथ कथक की तालीम — ताल और लय में कदम मिला रहीं छात्राएँ! 💃📚

भारती कॉलेज, दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय में छात्राओं के लिए आयोजित दो दिवसीय कथक कार्यशाला में कला, शिक्षा और अभिव्यक्ति का सुंदर संगम देखने को मिला। ✨

कार्यशाला के दौरान लगभग 35–40 छात्राओं ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया और कथक की बारीकियों—पद संचालन, मुद्राएँ, भाव-भंगिमाएँ, ताल एवं लय—का अभ्यास किया।

प्रशिक्षण के माध्यम से छात्राओं ने न केवल कथक की तकनीक को समझा, बल्कि भावों को नृत्य के माध्यम से व्यक्त करने की कला भी सीखी। पारंपरिक कथक शैली को संगीत की धुनों के साथ जोड़ते हुए छात्राओं ने अपनी रचनात्मकता और आत्मविश्वास का शानदार प्रदर्शन किया। 🌿

यह पहल इस बात का सुंदर उदाहरण है कि शिक्षा केवल किताबों तक सीमित नहीं होती—कला, संस्कृति और रचनात्मकता भी व्यक्तित्व निर्माण का महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा हैं।
