There is always query in the mind of students which stream to take after X. Normally, students are unaware of the fact that 10th is the initial stage for building a career.Choosing the right stream has long lasting impact on students future. Since it is very important time which will lead your career in right direction in future. So evaluate your options very carefully as to which stream to take as science, arts; commerce.
Let as consider How to choose the right stream after 10th?
Know yourself
Student must know his intrest,skills and abillity.For example ask yourself
-Do i really like maths?
-Am i good at maths?
-Can i be good in maths if i will get coaching and guidance?
Discuss with Senior/parents/teachers:
Sometime students doesnt have required knowledge/awareness about the subjects they are choosing. so they must approach seniors/parents/teachers
Even they may approach for counseling if required.
For parents
Parents must guide there ward about the choice but make sure that they must not be pressurized
As regarding career prospects and interest of student. Let us guide you from which subject what career can be chosen and who may choose it.
1. Science For student who has natural inclination(Interest) for science should only choose science stream and not because your friends are also taking science stream.
There are good opportunity in science like :
* IIT : You can appear for Indian Institute of Technology after appearing in class XII. If you get through IIT , you have reached at the right place to start with. (Math plus Science). If you don’t get into IIT’s then there are many engineering college from where you can take engineering Degree. So relax and keep calm .
* MBBS: If your math is not strong you can go for Doctor (With Bio) You need 5 or 7 year of your precious time to complete the course. So make your mind for this.
* Bio Chemists: This is new opportunity for science students. There is good demand of bio chemist in Parma companies.
* Academics: Do NET and PhD. and become lecturer and latter Professor. There is very attractive salary in academics also.
* Government Sector: Your can try in Defense forces, Civil services and Banking if interested in government sector.
2. Commerce: Commerce is very good option for students who does not have natural flair for science however they are good with numbers. There are numerous opportunity available for commerce students also viz, they can choose:
* Accounting Profession after XII or B.com
* CA
* CS
* CWA
* Law
* Economics
* Government Sector
Lets us learn one by one :
* Work as accountant in company with having some computer skill and training. (Like tally, MS Office, Power Point, Mailing and other internet things.)
* CA : Enroll for CA (CPT/Foundation )after appearing in Class XII. And become Chartered Accountant on successfully completion of the course. You can earn reputation in society and handsome salary after completing the course.
* CS: Company secretary is good for students who are good with language as well as numbers.
Law with company secretary is very lethal professional degree which will put you great height if you sincerely pursue it. you will get good start in career after completing the course.
* CWA : Cost Accountant: cost Accountant course is provided by The institute of Cost and Work Accountants of India and CWA’s are also in high demand.
* Law :When you complete your graduation. Law is also one of the lucrative area if you have aptitude for it and if you do from good college you can get very good salary in corporate house or become member of Bar Council of India and do your own Practice. There are very good law colleges in India from where you can get good start in your career. There are shortages of specialist lawyer in the country.
* Economics: Friends, as you all aware that every bank has it own economist which guide it in various decision making process related to policy making. The prerequisite for RBI Governor, International monetary fund (IMF) ,World bank the economist is required to give direction to institution. So you will have a fair idea of how much economist is in demand. Take it seriously and I promise you guys will be rewarded for taking it up.
So in nutshell, No stream, paper is good or bad. Every stream and paper is very good in itself . So choose any stream considering your interest, financial position, and the most import time you will devote for it. once again good luck for all of you guys.
