Mr. Jasbir Jassi– The Heartbeat of Punjabi Music
Our next speaker is one of the most respected names in the Punjabi music industry, known for his soulful voice, dynamic stage presence, and deep-rooted love for folk music. A first-generation musician, Jassi was trained in classical music under the tutelage of maestros like VS Jolly, Puran Shah Koti, and Ustad Shaukat Ali Khan. His music reflects the influence of spiritual guide Baba Kashmira Singh ji, inspiring him to look beyond boundaries and create music that unites.

From his debut song Channa Ve Teri Channani in 1993 to chart-topping albums like Dil Le Gayee, Kudi Kudi, and Akh Mastani, Mr. Jassi has continually evolved while staying true to his roots. His Bollywood hits like Laung Da Lashkara and Mel Karade Rabba further solidified his place as a versatile artist. Jassi's participation in Coke Studio, and reality shows like Dhoom Macha De and Voice of Punjab, showcased his Sufi soul and mass appeal.

With over three decades of journalistic excellence, Huma Ji stands as one of India’s most respected and pioneering voices in Defence, Space, and Foreign Affairs reporting. A proud alumna of Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, Miranda House, and Delhi University, Huma Ji has blazed trails in traditionally male-dominated beats — becoming one of the first women in India to report on defence and security.

It is now time to introduce our next esteemed speaker — Padma Shri awardee - Dr. Jitender Singh Shunty Ji.

Dr. Shunty is the Founder and President of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Seva Dal, a remarkable social charitable organization deeply involved in disaster management and the dignified cremation of unclaimed bodies — a service rooted in compassion and humanity.

During the COVID-19 crisis, while most of us were confined to the safety of our homes, Dr. Shunty fearlessly led from the front. He provided ambulance services to countless COVID patients and gave dignified cremations to over 4,400 COVID victims, many of whom were abandoned even by their families.

We are indeed privileged to have this living example of courage, compassion, and commitment among us this evening.

At our TEDx event, Sh. Jitender will share his extraordinary journey of courage, compassion, and his unwavering commitment to humanitarian service even when personal safety was at stake.
