Every child begins with endless imagination, asking questions, creating without fear.
Over time, they learn to fit in instead of stand out.
Maybe the goal isn’t to “teach” creativity…
But to protect what’s already there.

On World Book Day, we’re all reminded to pick up a book, but we rarely think about how we’re actually reading it. Most of us read just to finish, highlight a few lines, and move on. But reading can be more than that. It can be about questioning, exploring, and really understanding what’s in front of you.

That’s what Read Like a Scientist encourages. It shifts you from passive reading to active thinking, where you start noticing patterns, asking better questions, and connecting ideas instead of just collecting information.

Maybe today isn’t only about reading more. Maybe it’s about reading better. 📖

In 2026, everything is fast short videos, constant scrolling, and quick dopamine. Over time, this is affecting our ability to focus more than we realise. Even we struggle to sit through longer content or stay on one task without getting distracted.

Back in 2001, shows like Oswald were slower and calmer. That kind of content allowed our minds to stay in one place and build attention naturally.

Focus isn’t something we’re born with, it’s something we train. Right now, we’re training distraction but small changes like reducing screen time and doing one thing at a time can help bring that focus back.
