I am very excited to inform you all that Duloram Public Higher secondary school in CADC, Mizoram have conducted a reading session of the Chakma pawchawn (folklore) on the occasion of International Mother Language Day. Due to limited time, we couldn’t print the book out for them, yet the school took the effort to read the offline version from their mobile. I am hopeful that with more interesting content, the new generation will be excited to read in their own mother tongue. I am looking forward to create good memories for the children in my village, and hopefully, in future, they will create more enriching content with their mother tongue.

The day to celebrate our mother tongue is here. HAPPY INTERNATIONAL MOTHER LANGUAGE DAY!! This is a gift for all the Chakma folks here, to re-experience and recreate the culture of storytelling for our children with Pawchawn (Folklore). Special thanks to Niranjan Chakma, who has allowed me to reprint his story, this time and for the first time with lot of visual art in a Chakma storybook by our artist Rangei Tuku Changma and of course, my friend, 𑄝𑄨𑄞𑄫𑄖𑄨 𑄌𑄋𑄴𑄟𑄳𑄦 who has helped me with the typing of Chakma Unicode and Pratham Books' StoryWeaver who has opened doors to help promote one's mother tongue.

Dear all, I am extremely sorry for not posting any update lately. I am still actively working on promoting the Chakma script among the global Chakma diaspora community. With your support, let's target 2020 as the year of progression.
I am sharing this post to inform you all with an upcoming project. As we, longer have those generations who would share pawchawn(folklore) to us as children. However, the digital era allow us to revive that culture and create a meaningful memory for our new generation. I am compiling, editing and translating Chakma pawchawn (folktale) for children in both English and Chakma language with https://storyweaver.org.in/
The pawchawn can be read out to both Chakma and non-Chakma speakers so that it can reach out to a wider audience. I am preparing a gift to myself and the Chakma community for International Mother language day, 21st February 2020.
