๐Venue: Seminar Room
๐๏ธ Date: 28th February 2026
๐ฝ๏ธ๐๏ธ Adajya , directed by Santwana Bordoloi, explores the intersecting lives of three widows set against the rural backdrop of Assamโs Vaishnavite Sattra culture in South Kamrup. The film is adapted from Dr Mamoni (Indira) Raisom Goswamiโs acclaimed novel 'Dontal Haatir Uiye Khowah Howdah' (The Moth-Eaten Howdah of the Tusker).
Set in 1940s Assam, the film portrays the lives of Durga, Xoru Gosaani, and Giribala as they struggle against rigid patriarchal and religious constraints.
Join us for the screening of this powerful and thought- provoking film, and stay back for an engaging discussion afterward.โ๏ธ
We look forward to seeing you there! ๐
