The University of Delhi was established in 1922 and with its establishment the Dept. of Persian was also setup. Department offers MA, M.Phil, and PhD.

It is very painful to hear about the sudden unfortunate demise of Prof. Wali Akhtar of the department of Arabic.
The Department of Persian held a virtual condolence meeting yesterday @ 3:30 PM.
A condolence letter was drafted and sent to the Department of Arabic and to the family of Prof. Wali Akhtar. May Allah place him in heaven.

Dr. Zainab Kooshaki, Expert of Indian, Turkish and Azarbaijani chair at Saadi Foudation, Tehran, Iran along with her husband and with Dr. Ehsanollah Shukrullahi, Director, Persian Research Center, Iran Culture House, visited the department yesterday. They had come to get acquainted with the development of teaching and researches of the department and it gives satisfaction to know that they were feeling satisfied of the developments.
