Let's know today about the role insuline hormone plays in our body.......................insulin is a peptidal hormone i.e proteinacious in nature.it is secreted by beta cells present in the pancrease ,which is present just below our stomach and between the duodenum of small intestine.this hormone, when released into the blood of a person, enhances the uptake of glucose by body cells .but when the pancrease of a person doesn't "work properly and doesn't secrete sufficient amount of this hormone , glucose starts accumulating in the blood and is not uptaken by the cells properly and get converted into some other form like keton body which creates harmful effects in the body .if this situation persists for a long time in a person ,the person suffers from a disease called diabetes (sugar patients).in such cases he has to take injections of insulin at regular intervals as a treatment.
