Hypatia, The Academic Society of Department of Sociology, IPCW, takes immense pleasure in having conducted, "Tribal Empowerment", an enriching and educational webinar on 14th August 2023 under the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, with the aim of bringing to light the circumstances of the tribal society of India.
The event was presided by Dr. Avitoli G Zhimo, Joint Director, Centre for Tribal Studies, University of Delhi and Associate Professor of Anthropology, University of Delhi.
Dr. Zhimo highlighted the several issues faced by the tribal society of India, their treatment in mainland India, and the significant contributions made by them, flourishing towards a bright future, as she inculcated her own experience in her informative presentation.

The Editorial Board of EIDOS: the Annual Magazine of Department of Sociology, IPCW invites entries for the session 2023-24. Please find the broad themes below:
•Sociology of Media
•Sociology of Religion
•Grief and Hope
•Sociology of Food
• Sociology of the mundane
📌The entries can be made in the form of poetry, prose, artwork, illustrations , photographs etc.
📌While the themes are broad and open to interpretation, the students are welcome to submit any relevant sociological entries.
📌Entries in diverse languages are welcome! However, students are requested to send a short description of the same in English.
Looking forward to receiving a range of wonderful entries! ✨

From working for the department events to dancing and singing together, thank you for all the fun, love, and support. We appreciate all of your hard work and contributions to the department. You may not always end up where you planned to go, but you'll always end up where you're meant to be. We wish you tons of joy, success, and contentment as you enter a new chapter of your life.
As we take a trip down memory lane, full of emotions, let us cherish the moments spent together before you all make new ones.

Hypatia, the academic society of the Department of Sociology conducted its Bi-annual Student Paper Presentation on Tuesday, 18th April, 2023 at 10:30am.
A total of four papers were presented by the students of Semester IV and VI. The papers included a wide range of themes from religion, politics and education.
The event provided an enriching experience and a new insight to the students of the department. We congratulate all the presenters for their successful presentations. We also extend our gratitude to the faculty for mentoring the presenters and the student body for being a wonderful audience. Special thanks to the core team for ensuring the smooth functioning of the event.
We look forward to conducting more such academic and interesting events in the future.✨

Hypatia: The Academic Society of Department of Sociology, IPCW, is organising its Bi-annual Student Paper Presentation on 18th April, 2023 at 10:30AM in the Seminar Room.
The themes of the papers range widely from gender, education, to sacred, politics and religion.
All the best to the presenters! Looking forward to an insightful session. 💫

We regret to inform you that PRISM '23, the Annual Department Fest of of the Department of Sociology, IPCW stands cancelled due to unforseen circumstances. This decision was taken with deliberation and within the interests of the student community. We look forward to hosting several such events in the future and provide a fulfilling experience to all. We would also like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Hypatia, The Academic Society of Department of Sociology, Indraprastha College for Women, is organising a Student Paper Presentation, on 3rd April 2023, from 9:30 am onwards, in the Seminar Hall.
The themes range from an array of discourses and reflect the understanding of the students, as well as the larger dynamics of the society. The session is concentrated in its effort to provide a fruitful platform for intellectual discussions.
Looking forward to an insightful event ahead. ✨
