Dealing with adolescents can be a challenging but rewarding experience. Here are some parenting tips to navigate this stage:

1. Open Communication: Maintain open and non-judgmental communication with your child. Encourage them to share their thoughts, feelings, and concerns with you.

2. Active Listening: Pay attention to what your child is saying. Show empathy and understanding to build trust.

3. Set Boundaries: Establish clear and reasonable boundaries, rules, and consequences. Ensure they understand the reasons behind these rules.

4. Respect Independence: Adolescents crave independence. Allow them to make age-appropriate decisions and learn from their mistakes.

5. Be a Role Model: Demonstrate the behaviors and values you want your child to adopt. They often learn by observing you.

6. Offer Guidance: Provide guidance and support, but avoid being overly controlling. Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving.

7. Stay Informed: Be aware of your child's activities, friends, and interests. This helps you stay connected and involved in their life.

8. Encourage Healthy Habits: Promote a balanced lifestyle with proper nutrition, exercise, and adequate sleep. Discuss the risks of substance abuse.

9. Be Patient: Adolescence can be a turbulent time. Be patient, understanding, and tolerant of mood swings and changes.

10. Seek Professional Help: If you notice signs of serious issues like depression, anxiety, or substance abuse, don't hesitate to seek professional help from a therapist or counselor.

Remember that every child is unique, and what works for one may not work for another. Tailor your parenting approach to your child's personality and needs while promoting a healthy and supportive environment for their growth.

The s and z sounds are very similar sounds. No wonder they are commonly mixed up by English learners! The difference between these two sounds is that the z sound, โ€˜zโ€™ is made by using the vocal chords while the s sound, โ€˜sโ€™, is made without using the local chords.
