The Saksham Trust used to organise trips for the children of the informal school being run by them as regularly as possible.
But over recent years , the cash flow has been running into hurdles and many of such activities that were aimed at giving more exposure to the children, had to be reduced or given a complete go-by till such time the situation improves.
Many of the old students still remain in touch and it is a matter of great joy that some of them came up with this plan of sponsoring a "Around Delhi" sight-seeing trip for those in the higher age groups, as a part of the Children's Day celebrations.
They are all earning now and it was the happy memories of the trips that they had participated in, that made them want to pass it forward.
So they pitched in and hired a bus for the whole day, arranged for snacks and made sure that the kids had a wonderful time .
The National Rail Museum , National Museum of Natural History, National Gallery of Modern Art, Indira Gandhi Memorial, Bangla Saheb Gurudwara, India Gate and Buddha Gallery were some of the places they visited.
A day that they really enjoyed,as you can see from the pictures and videos.
As the trip had to be arranged on a day when these places would remain open , the sponsors themselves could not join the students, being a working day for them.
But they would surely have been there in
spirit.
Soni Gupta Tanveer, Sunil Kumar Sharad Kumar Singh , Shubham Mishra Sachin Sharma and Shambhu KD Rajput
Kiran Mishra who is in overall charge of the school ( she is also a former student of the school ) and the teachers, took care that the event went off very smoothly .
