NCAER

NCAER Established in 1956, NCAER is part of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s vision for the independent institutions that an independent India needed.

NCAER, the National Council of Applied Economic Research, is India’s oldest and largest independent, economic think-tank, supporting India’s development through applied economic research. NCAER’s work covers a range of topics spanning the macro economy, trade, infrastructure, agriculture, poverty, human development, gender, and the environment and natural resources. NCAER is one of a handful of think-tanks globally that combine rigorous analysis and policy outreach with deep data collection capabilities, particularly for large-scale household surveys.
